Better Than Platinum: The Chromeo Interview

“Romeo” seems to be the only word that rhymes with Chromeo. And for good reason. This two-piece R&B-electro outfit, consisting of P Thugg and Dave 1, drums up songs that make you want to dance, and cuddle too. Datarock: The Musical

Know the cool commercials and video games where the music is great but you’ve never heard it before? That’s because people are paid to go out and find good music you’ve never heard to impress your ears. (They usually do that at SXSW in Austin and Winter Music Conference in Miami.) Well we’ll just go ahead and give the farm away: the good music they’re all onto is Datarock. This electro-duo makes some of the finest sounds in Norway (maybe all Scandinavia!), and they met while avoiding compulsory military duty. Norway doesn’t need a military, anyway, they need more Datarock, herring and snowplows.

We’re totally sure that this series of images are electro, but just in case you can’t get out of disco we wrote ELECTRO across it, just so you weren’t confused. We aren’t confused, today. ELECTRO might be a feeling, and if it is we captured it, no question. No, we’re not taking questions! You may, however, insert comments at will. We promise to think hard about reading them and then thinking about what we’ve done.

What do you know about MSTRKRFT? Wrong! The guys in MSTRKRFT lie in interviews all the time. Al-P told us about the lies he makes up to entertain himself during other, boring interviews. (They’re not named after Kraft slices? Revelations!) Listen as the dude in the duo who isn’t the guy in Death From Above 1979 overfills your ears with his yummy ear candy. Mmm.
