Brooke1

Obviously, we were totally smitten when we viewed Brooke Reidt’s artwork–canvases covered in a melange of color and dreamlike visuals. The Los Angeles bus-rider/art-maker was recruited by the Element team to become an Advocate, collaborating with the brand to create graphics for shirts, and to be a role model for other young ladies. Wanna be impressed like us? Then read her interview!

Cover

Congratulations! You’ve stumbled upon something amazingly valuable – aStory Issue 03, the Holiday Issue. The new mag is finally here, so keep your eyeballs glued to this site for the coming weeks as we bring you all the awesome things inside. This guy told us that if you don’t come back daily, your computer will self destruct (and he knows computers).

We’ve interviewed Chromeo and the Horrors, and have pointed out all the sweet holiday trends like skinny denim, peacoats, cardigans, and denim on denim. We’ve shot epic fashion shoots inside beach houses and on top of rocky mountains. We’ve also highlighted PacSun’s insanely rad Collaboration Series which features t-shirts designed by musicians like the Plastiscines.

Read on and check back, or get ready to buy a new computer. Your choice.

Not so tiny bubbles

October 29th, 2009

Kind of old hat, but if you don’t know who Ty Evans is, okay. He’s an artist of the first order. He’s made a lot of skate videos (Fully Flared among dozens) that many commercial directors have directly stolen their ideas from, so why shouldn’t he just take their jobs and make commercials? I think he bit his thumb at them with this masterpiece. We like when people can make something so surreal without resorting to special effects.

Or maybe that came from this?

Our friend Brian is always doing something interesting. Besides for his job, which is a lot of corporate design work. Luckily he entertains himself and us on the side. We share a snowboard squat at Mammoth Mountain, and he curated these posters for the walls.

We like wild animals in Vegas-style laser-flecked clubs, and they look quite intoxicating on the walls of a mountain cabin while bears raid the trash outside.

The most graphic tee designer, Greg Crawford

October 15th, 2009

tee

Greg Crawford designs graphics for t-shirts and stuff. To do so, he has to concentrate really hard on not concentrating, so that he can swim down into the depths of the universal unconscious and surface with iconic designs that will forever alter the course of human history and also human future.

Greg Crawford leads, and where he goes, we go too. Not that we’re following like sheep; we’re just all agreeing that his is the best way. Because Greg Crawford has an excellent sense of art direction. May I direct you to more. …click more.
