13 – Jan Miyabara
Jan Miyabara
Artist Jan Miyabara grew up on O’ahu, Hawaii. Growing up on an island with the beach around her in every direction, she’s heavily influenced by… drum roll please… the beach. “Little mo mo” inspired her to design these shoes. We asked her some questions, and she kindly obliged when we forced her to. Read her answers.
What inspired your shoe design?
Three words: little mo mo.
What was the hardest part about designing your shoe?
Putting [the graphic] into repeat.
What are you going to do the first time you see somebody wearing your shoes?
I’m going to run up to her and sign them.
Would you trade your soul to the devil for a pair of these bad boys?
Hell no! They’re custom making me a pair!
What was your first pet and what was its name?
My first pets were a mutt named Murphy and a bunny named Francy Rabbit.
Why did you pick this design over others?
This was my only option.
What can we expect to see from you in the future?
Look out for my swim[wear] coming out this spring under the labels kikka, black poppy, and sweet madness.

Great white and black design, seems some hawaian ethnic on the shoe design, but it remain as simple and nice design.
Awesome Design. Very artistic and at the same time hip.
Martin – Never expect less from us. NEVER.
Kikka…..when did PAC start carrying that??
