Big Wave Riders

Being based in California, we’re down for surfing. We’d be up for surfing too if we knew how. But alas, we always tumble into the water and flop like dead fish. Oh well, some people have got it, some not. We do, however, love to watch surfing, and that’s why we’re excited for Billabong’s Pipeline Masters surf tournament. Read here for more!

Billabong throws the largest and oldest-running surf contest in the world, pulling $340,000 in prize money this year. That means the winner’s not only filthy rich at the end, but also revered as the sickest surfer out there. For instance, former Pipeline Master Jamie O’Brien says this about Pipeline, “To win at Pipeline, there’s nothing like it, it says everything about who you are as a surfer.” Man, talk about the good life. The contest takes place at Banzai Pipeline in North Shore, Hawaii, and this year marks its 39th anniversary.

Tune in from tomorrow December 8 until December 20 for all the gnarly wave riding, as Billabong’s gonna be showing a LIVE webcast during the entire event. We’ll be chomping popcorn as we lounge in our LazyBoys and watch the action. Feel free to do the same, but not with us – we only hang out with the cool cats.
