Social networking, WiFi computing, and iPhone applications are taking over the world, and we’re the ones who suffer; companies throw wacky innovations at us a mile a minute – maybe even 5 miles a minute. Here’s the latest from people with too much time on their hands and a knack for ridiculous products: a WiFi scale that automatically tweets.
The Withings scale allows the weight conscious to monitor and broadcast progress online. While this seems like a decent invention for contestants of The Biggest Loser, we’re left scratching our heads with confused looks on our faces, wondering who on earth would buy one. First off, why would anybody want a WiFi scale? Second off, why must it tweet?
What do you tell your friends when they see this in your bathroom? More importantly, what do you do when Big Bertha casually waltzes in and weighs herself, reporting a 550 pound weight gain to your twitter?
Check out the Withings scale at http://www.withings.com/en, or access their twitter account at http://twitter.com/withings.
