07 – Erica Becking
Artist Erica Becking from Southern California designed this shirt. She draws and paints with watercolors, and then throws the result into a blender with her computer. When the blender’s not spewing out jumbled computer parts, it spits out wonderful art like the piece you see. She obsessively stays within the lines of her favorite coloring books.
The first thing I noticed were the aviator glasses. Are ray bans out?
That’s right Ice Man! Aviators are timeless and classic.
Did you have a specific number of birds you wanted to draw, or did you just ..uhh.. wing it…?
Yes. I wanted exactly 24.5. However, aesthetic value prevailed and I was forced to drop a few.
What was your favorite part about drawing this piece?
The ability to blend a hand sketched drawing with a beautifully painted watercolor canvas.
Kenny Chesney and Arctic Monkeys both have a song called “When The Sun Goes Down.” What’s better, country or brit pop?
Well everything gets hotter when the sun goes down. I can’t hide it. I’m a country girl.
What was your inspiration for this piece?
Honestly, it was just one of those pieces that started as a doodle to get an idea on paper… then came the painting.
Why this piece rather than any of your others for this shirt?
I just felt motivated by it. I love this piece.
What can we expect to see from you in the future?
Aside from future seasons of Juniors artwork flooding the PacSun stores, I’d like to say I plan to travel the world with only a Nikon D80 and change of underwear.

Absolutely Awesome…Love it
This is one sick shirt. Where can i get it any one got a link.
Casey – We’ll give you a hint where to get it… Starts with a Pac, ends with a Sun. Need a bigger hint? PacSun! We live in the real world where links don’t exist.
Georgia – We loved it too. That’s why it made the cut. You should’ve seen the ones we didn’t love… but you never will because they’re in the abyss of trash that didn’t make it.
Georgia-Actually there were some other really amazing tees in this collaboration. You should check them out! Some others should respect them and their work as well. And p.s. in case you want to know EXACTLY where you can check them out…here’s the LINK!
